© Die Sportwerk GmbH/Michael Schmidt Official Registration Opens September 8
From Tuesday, September 8, 4 p.m., the registration phase opens for the 2027 European Rowing Indoor Championships (ERICH), presented by Concept2, as well as for all other competitions of the event weekend.
From January 22 to 24, 2027, the BallsportARENA Dresden will become the meeting point for Europe's indoor rowing elite. From September 8, 2026, participants can register online via erichdresden2027.com – the registration deadline is January 13, 2027, 6 p.m. Fees vary by competition: the regular price per seat is 40 euros for the 2027 ERICH, 20 euros for the German Championships, and 15 euros for the Central German Championships. Early registration comes with an early-bird discount: 30 percent in September, 15 percent in October and November.
If a race counts towards several championships, a single entry is automatically considered for all relevant titles – the entry fee is only charged once. The schedule is also designed for sporting flexibility: races will be coordinated wherever possible so that athletes can compete in multiple events over different distances.
The World Federation's competition rules (Indoor Rules of Racing) as well as the German Rowing Federation's rowing competition rules apply to all events. Additional information will be published in a Competition Notice at the start of registration. Alongside the European championships and the German and Central German Championships, a School Championship and a Corporate Cup are also on the programme – offering formats for the international elite as well as for clubs, schools, and companies.
"Dresden will host a sporting event in January that connects elite and grassroots sport in a special way. I therefore warmly invite all Dresden companies to enter their own team for the Friday evening kick-off as part of the Corporate Cup and become part of this special event themselves."
Jan Donhauser, First Mayor of Dresden
"We're bringing Europe's best indoor rowers to Dresden while putting our youth, our clubs, and grassroots sport right alongside them. That mix is exactly what makes ERICH so exciting for us. Anyone who thought rowing only happens on the water will experience in the BallsportARENA just how fast, loud, and emotional this sport can be. It was important to us to make participation as simple and fair as possible: depending on the event, entry fees range between 15 and 40 euros per seat – and early registration brings discounts of up to 30 percent."
Holger Hoffmann, President of the Saxon Rowing Federation
"Indoor rowing fascinates me in its own unique way: on the ergometer, neither weather nor waves matter. I'm especially drawn to the relay: it comes down to the team spirit we experienced winning Olympic gold in the quadruple sculls in 2012. Looking back at what we achieved then, I can well imagine bringing our team back together for the relay in Dresden."
Tim Grohmann, Olympic Champion in the Quadruple Sculls 2012
"It's fantastic that such a major rowing event will take place in Dresden. The anticipation is already huge. For us Dresden rowers, it's something very special to compete in front of a home crowd. I hope Dresden can show just how much enthusiasm for rowing exists here, and that many people take the chance to experience this special sport live."
Philipp Prüfer, U19 World Champion in the Junior Quadruple Sculls 2026
Dresden's Sports Mayor Jan Donhauser, Olympic champion Tim Grohmann, and young talent Philipp Prüfer already gave the symbolic starting signal for the registration phase at the press conference.
